Portslade pensioners need a Wii
Councillor Bob Carden (Labour member for North Portslade) has been working with charity organisations to find funding for a new television and Nintendo Wii for residents of Hazel Holt older people's home in Portslade.

A console's not just fun for the young
Cllr Carden has recently approached the Argus Appeal, Help the Aged and Hills Radio and TV in Portsalde to help him in his quest to get better equipment at Hazel Holt Home. He has so far managed to secure a discounted price at Hills local electrical shop, but needs to find the rest of the money for the hi-tech equipment.
Bob said:
"I have seen the enjoyment that interactive consoles like the Nintendo Wii have given older generations. It would be great to have a facility like this that exercises both body and mind, no matter what the weather is outside.
"Hazel Holt needs to replace its outdated entertainment systems, so I am working with staff, residents and charities to make sure they get something that can be a real benefit to their lives.
"The pensioners of Hazel Holt are looking forward to taking part in simulated bowling, athletics and darts, who knows they may get good enough to beat their grand children."
