Threat to sheltered housing
Des Turner MP has given his backing to sheltered housing residents threatened with the loss of their on site managers.

Des outside Leach Court with Labour parliamentary candidate for Kemptown Simon Burgess.
Des said "It is very worrying that Conservative councils are choosing to scrap live-in managers, hitting the most vulnerable people in our society. Tenants in sheltered and extra-care housing rely on live in staff for help in day-to-day living and in emergencies."
In Brighton and Hove there are 24 such schemes with live-in staff, providing more than 850 homes. In one of the largest in Des Turner's constituency, Leach Court on Eastern Road, over 100 residents have signed a petition opposing any cut to their live-in managers.
Brighton and Hove City Council, which is controlled by a minority Conservative cabinet, has said that sheltered housing is under review.
