Labour: No to Tory council cuts
Councillor pledges opposition to Conservative council cuts
Following the local elections where the Conservatives emerged as the largest party on Brighton and Hove City Council, Labour have pledged to challenge any cuts to essential services proposed by the new Tory administration.
Local Labour councillor Warren Morgan said "where the Tories won power last year in authorities like Merton and Hammersmith & Fulham they have made far-reaching cuts to social care and other essential services in the pursuit of tax cuts. We will be watching Conservatives here - who gave no spending plans prior to the elections - to make sure our services to vulnerable people are safe."
