Seven hours and seventy miles for Peacehaven

Labour's Simon Burgess cycled from the High Court in London to Peacehaven to raise funds and awareness for the legal fight against Southern Water's sewage works proposals in Peacehaven.

The Peacehaven Town Mayor, Des Turner MP and local residents welcome Simon at the end of his seven hour ride.

The money raised will go towards funding a Judicial Review in opposition to the planning consent given by East Sussex County Council for a sewage works at Lower Hoddern Farm.

Simon, who has opposed the sewage plans from the start, did the sponsored ride on March 13th. As he set out, he was interviewed on the local BBC radio station outside the Department for Communities and Local Government.

Local Labour MP Des Turner said: "Nobody should be in any doubt how determined Peacehaven residents are to defeat these proposals. I'm sponsoring Simon as he raises funds for this vital legal challenge."
