Labour Government completes its 100 hospitals scheme two years early

Brighton Pavilion MP David Lepper has welcomed the news that the government's plan to build, improve, or refurbish 100 hospitals has been completed two years ahead of schedule.

The 100th hospital scheme - in St. Helens -  opened its doors and top class care to patients in November.

Included in the multi billion pound programme is the Royal Alexandra Children's Hospital in Brighton.

David Lepper said:

"With the new brand new Royal Alex one of the hundred new hospitals, I am pleased that the city has benefited from the Labour government's promise to help ensure a modern health service that meets patients' needs.

"When Labour proposed more NHS funding to rebuild the health service, Conservatives voted against it. Labour's investment is improving care and facilities for patients across the country, building new hospitals and bringing older ones up to date."
