Spring in The Patch

An activity day was held in April at Willliam Clarke Park ('The Patch').

Steve Yandell, from Hanover and Elm Grove's ward Labour party, reports on a day in the park for Labour:

"It was a pleasure to attend 'Spring in the Patch' on Sunday, April 27, at William Clarke Park (on the site of Hartington Halt, a former railway siding on the old Kemp Town line that was land-filled in the 1970s).

"This excellent event was organised on collective basis by the Friends of William Clarke Park.

"Local people brought along food to share and there were various stalls with games, crafts and alternative therapies. Our ward had a stall and introduced Nancy to lots of local people, including some of the organisers.

"We gave out balloons and our own homemade cakes, all of which were thoroughly appreciated by the children!"
