Vote Carden & O'Connor on June 4th
Voters in Peacehaven, Telscombe Cliffs & East Saltdean have a chance to vote for real change on East Sussex County Council on June 4th.
Local activists John Carden & Laurence O'Connor are standing in the council elections and promising "a real voice for Peacehaven, Telscombe Cliffs & Saltdean".
From sewage works proposals at Portobello, and then Peacehaven, to the appallingly designed and implemented South Coast Road changes - the County Council has actively worked against the interests of local people.
Throughout the many campaigns where the local community has worked to stop or reverse County Councils plans one local resident has always been there with you from the beginning - John Carden. Many of you will know John as someone who isn't afraid to speak his mind, to stand up for the community, against companies like Southern Water and councils like Lewes District and East Sussex.
John doesn't just protest though, he also works for positive change. He was absolutely key, from the beginning, in the campaign for a South Downs National Park. He has also been the Chairman of the Friends of Telscombe Tye - the Tye will be in the new national park, in no small part because of John's hard work.
Though his name may not be as familiar to you as John's, local resident Laurence O'Connor is someone who has also got stuck into representing local communities. John and Laurence are both active in local resident and community associations and hear daily what issues are of concern to local people.
It's time that the County Council got a big wake up call. The residents of Saltdean, Telscombe and Peacehaven do matter: if you elect John and Laurence they will make sure your concerns are heard loud and clear in the County Council.
